A group of St. Mary’s Academy student leaders, representing more than a dozen programs and initiatives, joined the school's Alumnae Council meeting in November to share their current work. The Alumnae Council is an intergenerational network of dedicated St. Mary’s alumnae. They work together to enhance alumnae engagement, with the goal of furthering the St. Mary’s mission. Their members represent alumnae from the 1950s through the 2000s.
Students opened the meeting with a bonding activity. Then over a shared pizza and salad meal, students gave short “snapshots” of their leadership work. In addition, students talked to alumnae about potential partnerships and opportunities for skill building and to widen their professional networks.
The November meeting was a powerful opportunity for two groups of women, who wouldn’t otherwise be in the same room together, to build relationships, celebrate what’s special about St. Mary’s Academy and work together to build a strong future for our school.
