A very warm fall greeting from the Campus Ministry and Service office (CMS)! Our team is in the beginning of our busiest season, planning for retreats, immersion trips, Liturgies, service-programs, and other ministries this year. Each event is designed to showcase the gifts of our incredible community, welcome the Holy Spirit, and inspire a sense of love for our neighbors in all ways.
Some highlights to look forward to this fall include:
The inter-scholastic Walk for Joy, a partnership with other local area Catholic schools to raise money for the Children’s Cancer Association, and foster community between metro-area Catholic-peers.
- Annual Hands-Full-of Heart service day for seniors
- First Encounter retreat of the year in November
- The SOLVE Beach cleanup
- The annual Thanksgiving prayer service
- An immersion trip to the U.S.-Mexico border
- Ongoing CMS service projects
- Parent-outreach in conjunction with the Theology department
- Celebrations honoring our SNJM foundresses and mission
We are so blessed to have such a vibrant community dedicated to service, faith-formation, and self-reflection here at St. Mary's.
As always, we will continue to keep our work focused on the core values of the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary, and our St. Mary’s mission. We are always looking for new and engaging ways to share this tradition and ministry with our girls and families, so if you ever have a suggestion or question, we welcome your input. Email is a sure-fire way to get a hold of us in our always-busy office, but in-person visits, and phone calls are most welcome, too.
As staff members, we know that the work we do here with our students is not complete without your reinforcement at home, and we are so grateful for your partnership in the mission. If there are any events you would like to learn more about or be a part of in some way, please feel free to reach out. Thank you again; many hearts and minds make light the work of Christ.
In Christ’s Peace,
"You have a specific and important mission, that of keeping alive the relationship between the faith and the cultures of the people to whom you belong." -Pope Francis
