For the first time since we began our iPad program in 2013, we are allowing St. Mary’s owned iPads to go home over the summer with the class of 2020, 2021 and 2022. We feel that learning doesn’t end when school is out and this will help students facilitate that learning even more, especially with St. Mary’s online summer classes, resources through Multnomah County Library and those offered by other educational institutions.
We understand you may have a number of questions so hopefully we can answer those below.
Is it required for students to take home their iPad over the summer? No. They can still turn in their iPad to their TA on the last day of school.
What if a student is not sure or definitely not returning in the Fall? They must turn in their iPad to their TA on the last day of school. Only students that have confirmed with our Finance Department that they are returning will have the option.
What if the iPad is damaged or lost over the summer? The terms of the St. Mary’s Academy iPad Contract still apply. A link to an online form will be emailed to families to confirm they agree to the terms.
