The Coalition for Consent Education (CFCE) invites St. Mary’s families to attend Ask First! Consent Education Event on Saturday, Apr. 27, at 1 p.m. at the Portland Community College Sylvania Campus. This is a free event about relationships and consent with Mark Domitrz, of the Date Safe Project. This event has been organized by teens in the Portland metropolitan area, including St. Mary’s own Irie Page.
Since last July, these teens have been organizing and fundraising to pay the speaker fee, venue fees and event expenses, and have raised over $10,000 to make this educational event available to area teens!
In an era of Brock Turner and #MeToo, these young people are standing up and saying what teens want to learn about how to have healthy relationships beyond the basic STI education. They want to learn how to keep themselves and others safe by learning how to prevent sexual assault. They want to raise awareness and take action by providing consent education.
This event is recommended for ages 12 and above. While the event is free, you are encouraged to register. If you would like additional information or have any questions, please contact Sarah Page
