Class of 2025 Graduation Information

A cherished tradition through the decades, the senior class selects a theme and comes together to paint the wall in senior hall before the first day of school.

At the start of their final year, seniors gather early in the morning to watch the sunrise, marking the beginning of their last chapter at SMA with reflection and camaraderie.

Organized by the Alumnae Department, the Ring Ceremony is a special moment when seniors receive their school rings, symbolizing the deep bond shared by all SMA alumnae since 1859. 

From the Greek metanoein meaning "to change one’s mind," this three-day, two-night retreat aims to help seniors take a new look at how their life after SMA will look and encourages them to look back on the place that helped shape them into who they are. Metanoia is offered once in the spring for any senior who wants to participate and is focused on fun, camaraderie, and shared appreciation and anticipation for life’s next major transition.

Metanoia for the Class of 2025 will be held from Thursday, May 8 to Saturday, May 10, 2025.

The entire school comes together to honor the seniors, celebrating their journey at SMA with skits, speeches, and heartfelt moments. Senior TAs call the roll for the final time, and seniors take the stage to bid farewell while their class song plays in the background.

Seniors join the Alumnae Council for a meaningful ceremony, hearing from a young alumna and receiving a gift as they are inducted into the alumnae community. This tradition includes a festive luncheon, celebrating "Oh, the Places You'll Go," and marking their future colleges plans on a large map.

Seniors gather one last time to watch the sunset, bidding farewell to their four years at SMA in a poignant, reflective moment shared with classmates as they close this chapter of their lives.
