High School Summer Courses
American Government
11th-12th grade
June 9th - August 8th with finals week occurring August 11th-15th
Course Fee: $340
This asynchronous online course examines the formal institutions of government, emphasizing the process of government in the United States. Students will have the opportunity to work ahead at their own pace or follow an instructor-provided calendar for work completion. SMA students will earn 0.5 credit. All students must attend a 15-minute in-person orientation session after school on either Tuesday 6/3 or Wednesday 6/4 after school. Students unable to attend one of the planned sessions must schedule another time during finals week to meet with the instructor via Zoom.
Other Requirements: Class is open to St. Mary's Academy students only. Students must have access to a computer and the internet on a regular, ongoing basis throughout the summer to complete and submit assignments.

Health 2: Women's and Public Health
10th-12th grade
June 23rd-August 22nd with finals week occurring August 18th-22nd
Course Fee: $340
This online course explores health on a community, national, and global scale. Students will examine health problems and solutions affecting the communities we live in and the larger world around us using websites, readings, and a project. Students will also learn about college life and readiness from a health perspective. In person CPR and first aid are required at an additional cost. SMA students earn 0.5 credit and must have access to a computer and the Internet on a regular, ongoing basis throughout the summer to complete and submit assignments. There are weekly deadlines.
All students must attend a mandatory orientation with the instructor in June to enroll in this course. Students unable to attend this mandatory informational meeting must schedule another time during finals week to meet with the instructor.
