Our mission is to provide an accepting and encouraging environment for young women to build life skills such as cooperation, critical thinking, and leadership as well as experience the diverse field of STEM. We hoe to not only foster strong friendships, but to also build a sense of community and belonging.
St. Mary's students are changemakers — women who build the future of STEM. One of our premiere STEM programs is the Beta Blues Robotics team, Oregon's only all-female team and the largest all-girls team in the world.
But how did we get here?
Beta Blues had their first season in 2016. That same year, the team earner the 'Best Rookie Team' award. Year after year, we have been committed to getting better and learning from past seasons. This can be seen in our awards, including the "Gracious Professionalism," "Excellence in Engineering," "District Engineering," and "Creativity." We are also won the 'Team Spirit' award annually since 2019.

FRC
The information below is provided by FRC.
FRC is committed to combining the excitement of sport with the rigors of science and technology. We call FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) the ultimate sport for the mind. High school student participants call it 'the hardest fun you'll ever have.' Under strict rules, limited time, and resources, students are challenged to raise funds, design and brand the team, hone teamwork skills, and build and program industrial-sized robots to play a difficult field game against like-minded competitors. Volunteer professional mentors lend their time and talents to guide each team. Each season ends with an exciting FIRST Championship.
