Scholarships

With the assistance of generous donors, we are pleased to offer financial need-based scholarships to our applying candidates for the Class of 2023.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • She must be an incoming freshman at St. Mary's Academy, qualify for admission, and have taken the High School Placement Test at one of the local Catholic schools.

  • Her family must demonstrate a need for financial assistance to attend St. Mary’s Academy. A financial aid application must be filed with FACTS by January 18, 2019. This is a mandatory step for the scholarship application process and must be completed by the January 18 deadline. The FACTS application will not be shared with the scholarship committee.

How to Apply

1. Submit an application for financial aid with FACTS by January 18, 2019. Click here for more information about the financial aid program at St. Mary's Academy.

2. Complete the online Class of 2023 Scholarship Application by January 28, 2019. The Office of Admissions must receive your application by January 28 to be considered.

Selection Process

All essays are reviewed by the St. Mary's Academy Scholarship Committee. Applicants will be notified of financial aid and scholarship decisions by mail with admissions decision letters on March 14, 2019. Virginia Mathews Scholars Program

The Virginia Mathews Scholars Program commends ten (10) students on their exemplary achievement in the areas of Academic Excellence and Leadership and Service. These scholarship awards are not based on financial need. The $2,500 awards are non-renewable and will be applied toward freshman year tuition.

Virginia Mathews Academic Scholars

  • Five (5) scholarships in the amount of $2,500 are non-renewable and will be applied toward freshman year tuition.
  • Students must qualify to apply to the Virginia Mathews Academic Scholars Program by placing in the 90th percentile nationally on the High School Placement Test.
  • The Office of Admissions will send personal invitations to eligible candidates once test scores are received.
  • Completed applications and teacher recommendations are due January 28, 2019.

How to Apply

1. Submit an online application for admission to St. Mary’s Academy for the 2019-2020 school year by the January 18, 2019 deadline.

2. Register and take the High School Placement Test in December at one of the local Catholic high schools and earn a score within the 90th percentile nationally. You will receive an invitation to apply once scores have been received by the Office of Admissions, typically in early January.

3. Complete the Virginia Mathews Academic Scholars online application. Completed scholarship applications must be received by the Office of Admissions by January 28, 2019 to be considered.

4. Request a recommendation from a current teacher using our online recommendation form. This recommendation must be received by the Office of Admissions by January 28, 2019 to be considered. Please request your recommendation as soon as possible, in order to give your teacher adequate time to complete your recommendation.

Virginia Mathews Leadership and Service Scholars

  • Five (5) scholarships in the amount of $2,500 are non-renewable and will be applied toward freshman year tuition.
  • All students who have displayed a commitment and dedication to service and leadership in their school, church or community are invited to apply.
  • Completed applications and teacher recommendations are due January 28, 2019.

2. Register and take the High School Placement Test at one of the local Catholic high schools.
