St. Mary's Academy is excited to connect with our community on social media. We encourage community members to share and engage with us on our official social media platforms following our Community Guidelines. These guidelines ensure a standard of behavior expected to create a safe and encouraging environment where community members can interact, feel safe, express themselves, and have fun!
St. Mary's Academy has an official Instagram and Facebook account administered by SMA Marketing & Communications. Other affiliate accounts across the school (relating to clubs, sports, and groups) are administered by leaders of corresponding groups. Administrators of these groups are responsible to oversee and uphold the St. Mary's Academy Social Media Community Guidelines.
Community Guidelines
When sharing on any social media and other online platforms, we ask that all users be respectful when commenting, posting, reposting, and sharing. Any published content that is outside of St. Mary's Academy's mission and the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary (SNJM) values (see below) may be removed and/or untagged without notice. These violations may also result in removal or banning of the user from St. Mary’s social media pages and accounts and may lead to disciplinary action.
Prohibited social media content include, but are not limited to:

Publishing content that is in conflict with St. Mary's Academy student or faculty/staff handbook

Publishing content that is in conflict with the mission of St. Mary's Academy, charism of the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary (SNJM), and Catholic values

Publishing irrelevant content that are promotions or solicitations

Publishing content that is unrelated to the topic of St. Mary's Academy subjects/community

Publishing any defamatory, infringing, obscene, indecent, misleading or unlawful material or information

Publishing content that is bullying, harassing, vulgar, profane, inappropriate, violent, or threatening (including but not limited to personal attacks or comments disparaging an individual or group based on ethnicity, race, gender, religion, age, disability, or sexual orientation), or that invades personal privacy

Publishing content that is hateful toward St. Mary's Academy or any individual

Publishing spam and repetitive content
By engaging with St. Mary's Academy media accounts, you accept these Social Media Guidelines and grant St. Mary's a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide, irrevocable license to reproduce, transmit, display, disclose, and otherwise use your communications in any way without restriction.
While St. Mary's Academy does encourage the community to engage within social media, user-generated content such as comments and posts shared by individuals and/or groups do not represent the opinions of St. Mary's Academy.
