Go Blues! SMA Gym Renovation is Complete!
This summer was filled with hardhats and construction tape here at SMA as we work to finish the gym remodel before student’s returned for the new school year. This project is part of the continued effort to ignite the future of St. Mary’s Academy athletics, programs, and people.
We are thrilled to announce the gym renovation is complete, and we invite you to join us at upcoming games and events to enjoy the space too! After all, this is a special space for our entire community to enjoy together!
We are especially grateful to our donors who made this project possible – all of whom have supported St. Mary’s behind the scenes for many years and have championed this project since the beginning.
Thank you to:
- Mary Mathews Stevens ’80 & Mark Stevens
- Clark Foundation
- Mike & Tracey Clark
- Candace & Jon Holzgrafe
- Brittney Clark ‘94
Your support of our athletics programs and St. Mary’s Academy means the world to us.
To bring this project to life, we partnered with a female team from BORA Architects, who prioritize working with women and minority-owned organizations, along with R&H Construction.
It was such a thrill to host our Volleyball Night in early October and multiple games since, along with a pep rally and Student Fundraiser activities that fill the space with excited students, our talented athletes, parents, and visitors! Thanks to all who joined us for the exciting games!
Gym renovations include:
- Fresh paint
- New bleachers
- Branded décor and padding
- State-of-the-art digital scoreboard and OSAA shot clock
- Athletic director facilities
- Modern trainer’s room
- Safety & electrical improvements
We hope the next time you are at SMA you visit the new gym and see the new modernized space that is light, airy, and filled with SMA pride.
