SMA Celebrates Alumnae at Upcoming Academy Awards Ceremony March 9th
Each spring, we have the pleasure of hosting the St. Mary’s Academy Awards, an event that celebrates the outstanding accomplishments of our alumnae. The nominees, put forward by fellow SMA graduates, are incredible women whose achievements are a testament to the legacy St. Mary’s is proud to carry. Please join us in celebrating our three 2024 St. Mary’s Academy Awards Honorees that will be recognized at our upcoming ceremony on March 9th:
Patty Lopez Jayne '84 – Achievement in Athletics
Terrie Buell Lora '90 – Achievement in Leadership
Karis Stoudamire-Phillips '94 – Community Impact - Mission & Charism
These accomplished alumnae embody what it means to be a St. Mary’s woman. At SMA, we celebrate our graduates and their successes far beyond the four years they walk these halls. The lives they have lived since their time at SMA are not only worth celebrating, but worth sharing with our greater community.
We are eager to share the successes of Patty, Terrie, and Karis with our entire community on March 9th. Director of Alumnae Relations, Catherine Knight, shared “It’s a highlight of the school year to celebrate our honorees at the Academy Awards ceremony each year. The more I’ve learned from these women, the more I believe in the power of a St. Mary’s education and the profound ripple effect it has on the world around us.”
This year we are introducing our Honorees to our student body during a panel discussion on March 8th. We know this time with students will inspire and empower the next generation to strive for the same level of excellence and encourage them to know they can do the same.
