Blessings to the Class of 2023
On Saturday, June 3 St. Mary’s gathered together to celebrate the Class of 2023 at the University of Portland. The ceremony included speeches from valedictorian, Emilie Cocke and salutatorian, Amelia Nason along with a Commencement Address from SMA alumna, Kristy Poonyagariyagorn ’97. During the ceremony, the Marian Singers honored their senior members at their final performance together.
Throughout their time at SMA, the Class of 2023 embodied the teachings that lie at the heart of the SNJM charism. As President Becker stated during Saturday’s commencement, “You led our equity initiatives, you committed countless hours to service, and you walked a path of spirituality and faith. Your leadership and your commitment to modeling friendship and compassion for the younger classes left an indelible mark on the culture of our school.”
Class of 2023, we honor your achievements, celebrate your growth, and reflect upon your transformative journey over the past four years. As you step into this next chapter of your lives, may you be blessed with courage, wisdom, and unwavering faith.
On behalf of the faculty, staff, and administration of St. Mary’s Academy, we extend our warmest congratulations to our graduates joining the 11,000 young women who have come before them. We eagerly await the impact you will make on our world.
Congrats, Class of 2023! May God bless you abundantly.
