Season 2 Sports Recap

What a great year for St. Mary's season 2 sports: cross country, soccer and volleyball.  We are excited to share the latest from each of our fantastic teams.

Soccer

Congratulations to the varsity soccer team for a great season, with a 5-3-1 record thus far. After last season’s state appearance, the Blues came back eager for more. St. Mary's maintained a strong standing throughout the season and allowed only five opponent goals total. The Blues will wrap up their season on Thursday, April 8 with a final match against La Salle at Buckman field. You can catch the action live at facebook.com/stmaryspdx

Volleyball

St. Mary’s Blues volleyball fought hard in a challenging year in the Three Rivers League. With seven returning players, the varsity team found a cohesive team dynamic in the short six-week season. Led by setters and sisters, Zoe ’21 and Adrienne ’24 guided the Blues through the arduous TRL league competitions. The Blues' season highlight was beating the Canby Cougars who placed 3rd in the 2019 state competition, securing the win in three sets. At the sub-varsity level, JV and JV2 dominated the league with only a few losses. St. Mary’s volleyball wrapped up their season on March 31 with a final match against Oregon City.

Cross Country

The cross country team worked hard in the Three Rivers League this season. Senior Fiona Lenth won her third consecutive race on Wednesday, March 17 and is slated as a top runner in the state. In the TRL championship, the Blues finished 3rd in the varsity meet and second in the JV. The state invitational will take place on Saturday, April 10 at 3:00 PM at Rose City Golf Course.
