Today, St. Mary's is thriving as Oregon's oldest continuously operating secondary school, and the only remaining single-gender high school in the state. The school is at capacity enrollment, with over 600 students from over 30 communities in Oregon and Southwest Washington.
Your generous gift to the St. Mary's Academy Capital Campaign provided vital funding for facility improvements which support the school's academic and co-curricular programs. Through your generosity, St. Mary's is able to meet the challenges of increased enrollment and expanded course offerings as well as strengthen the sense of community at our school. The young women of St. Mary's are grateful and continue to be grateful for your support!
Through the $15.2 million Building on Tradition for the Future Capital Campaign, the St. Mary's community enjoys a:
- Handicapped-Accessible Front Courtyard and Entrance,
- Comfortable, Expanded Reception Area and New Academic Administrative Offices,
- Expansion and Remodel of the Fine Arts Department, including The Clark Family Auditorium State-of-the-art Theatre with a Newly Designed Orchestra Pit and Thrust Stage,
- Renovated Visual Arts Department for Courses in Watercolor, Calligraphy, Drawing, and Photography,
- New Strength and Conditioning Facility,
- Expanded Student Locker Room and Visiting Team Accommodations, and the
- Recently Renovated Virginia and Richard Mathews Gymnasium.
But the challenges to accommodate capacity enrollment, expand course offerings, and foster quality student life, continue. And, St. Mary's has a plan …
A New and Expansive Rooftop Addition!
Construction began in the fall of 2004 and was completed in the fall of 2005. Thanks to all of you for your generous contributions; you have made an incredible difference at St. Mary's.
