CAPITAL CAMPAIGN

St. Mary's Academy's Building on Tradition for the Future, a major capital effort, was successfully completed in 2005.

Your generous gift to the St. Mary's Academy Capital Campaign provided vital funding for facility improvements which support the school's academic and co-curricular programs. The success of St. Mary's capital campaign helps our school meet the challenges of increased enrollment and expanded course offerings as well as strengthen the sense of community at our school. The young women of St. Mary's are grateful and continue to be grateful for your support!

Through the $15.2 million Building on Tradition for the Future Capital Campaign, the St. Mary's community enjoys :

• Handicapped Accessible Front Courtyard and Entrance
• Expanded Reception Area and New Academic Administrative Offices
• Expansion and Remodel of the Fine Arts Department, including the Clark Family Auditorium, a state-of-the-art Theatre with a Newly Designed Orchestra Pit and Thrust Stage
• Renovated and Expanded Visual Arts Department
• Weight and Training Facilities with showers, locker room, and visiting team accommodations
• Renovated Virginia and Richard Mathews Gymnasium

A New and Expansive Rooftop Addition:

• Exactly 16,500 square feet,
• Five new classrooms,
• A unified space for student support services: academic, personal and college counseling, along with Campus Ministry and Student Activities Offices.
• An extra-wide hallway showcasing St. Mary's memorabilia and student artwork gently sloping upward toward the existing third floor cafeteria

• A spacious indoor/outdoor student commons with skylights, a gas fireplace, comfortable furniture and views of downtown Portland.
• Walk outside to the large stone patio with tables and chairs and views of the west hills.

Construction began in the fall of 2004 and was completed in the fall of 2005. Thanks to all of you for your generous contributions; you have made an incredible difference at St. Mary's Academy.
