Start your Earth Day celebration early by joining Metro as they recognize the efforts of young artists from Clackamas, Multnomah and Washington counties. Metro Council President David Bragdon will kick-off the awards ceremony for the Earth Day billboard art contest after which everyone will gather in the outdoor plaza to see the winning artwork unveiled for the first time. There will be fun and educational activities for everyone. SMA student Danielle Knott’s poster will be featured on a new tote bag for Metro.
Designs at the art show will represent approximately 200 finalists (four of whom are St. Mary’s students) chosen from artwork submitted students from metro-area elementary, middle and high schools. Four winning designs will be transformed into 14-foot by 48-foot billboards to be displayed for the month of April. The finalist's artwork will be posted in the Metro Regional Center lobby.
