2009-10 Nordic Ski Team
Blues Place 4th at State
SMA Nordic Team competed in the OISRA State Championships and placed 4th overall. In the freestyle race, varsity point holders were Lucy Whipps, Allie Donahue, Amanda Adsitt, Rachel Struxness and Emlyn Foxen. In the classic race, the varsity point holders were Lucy Whipps, Rachel Struxness, Sarah Wigginton, Amanda Adsitt and Allie Donahue. Lucy Whipps represented SMA on the podium making top ten in the State for classic skiing.
SMA Wins 3rd Consecutive League Title
The SMA Nordic team placed first at the Northern League 8k Classic/Skate Pursuit Race at Teacup Lake on February 6. Lucy Whipps led the way for SMA, coming in first, followed by Sarah Wigginton, third; Rachel Struxness, fifth; Amanda Adsitt, sixth; and India Downes-LeGuin in seventh. The JV also put in a great performance with Nora Helfand our first JV finisher.
The Northern League girls overall champion for 2010 is Lucy Whipps, followed by Sarah Wigginton in second place, Allie Donahue in third, Amanda Adsitt in fourth, Rachel Struxness in fifth, India Downes-Le Guin in ninth and Nora Helfand in tenth.
